IAAPA Review 2011
After the huge success that was the European Attractions Show in London, our attention turn to
Orlando, Florida and the IAAPA Expo 2011!
Every November sees the World's leisure industry descend on the Orange County
Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.
IAAPA, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, attracts
thousands of exhibitors and attendees each year; and Galaxy Multi Rides is no
exception.
2011 was the 13th year in a row that we have exhibited at IAAPA, and Orlando didn’t let
us down - becoming our best ever year at IAAPA!
The main talking point of the Galaxy booth was the iPhone / Android controlled
mechanical bull we had set up for demonstration.
This was our commitment to innovation of our products, an avenue that can be expanded for future
projects which we intend to do. We wanted to show the world what we could do – especially with increased
competition at the show. Let's see them copy this!
The project came about from a request from a milkshake company in Norway called
Litago. They wanted to create a ride that incorporated the rider and the audience
participating with each other, to have fun. The Ku-Rodeo (Rodeo Cow in Norwegian)
was created as you can see in the video below.
The smartphone controlled rodeo bull was one of four new attractions launched by
Galaxy at the IAAPA Expo.
Farmyard Collection saw its debut at the Orlando show following the success of Angus
McRodeo (the mechanical bull for kids) from 2008. Angus McRodeo, Shane the Sheep,
Rocky Horse, Clucky the Chicken and Pippa Pig make up the Farmyard Collection – A
group of attachments for smaller children under 8 years old.
Working on the low profile motion base and the small footprint of a 10’ x 10’ inflatable,
each attachment can be changed out in under 5 minutes making it perfect for backyard
parties, schools and family entertainment centers.
At the front of the booth was our angry bull head, but it's still the safest in the industry.
We mounted our brand new snorting bull head on a board so passers by could touch,
squeeze and make the bull blow smoke through its nostrils.
This was a huge hit, with the feature being added onto many orders at the show, as well
as entertaining and scaring passers by in the aisles.
The electronics on the console have a button incorporated so the operator can make the
bull blow smoke (C02) out of its nose as much or as little as they like.
A small refillable C02 canister is mounted inside the mechanical bull body and can hold
300 shots of smoke on one charge. See the video below.
Last but not least saw another IAAPA debut, this time for our new Bison / Buffalo
attachment. He was on a stand next to our ever popular Hammerhead Shark and the
new Bad Ass Bar Bull that we launched at the European Attractions Show in London.
Away from the show floor, all the talk was about the super exclusive Heaven Party.
Galaxy teamed up with Fun Pro Insurance (the leading leisure insurance company) Ninja
Jump (the World’s premier inflatable manufacturer) and Extreme Engineering (Worlds
greatest rock wall and zip line manufacturer) to throw an amazing party! (After all we are
in the business of fun!)
The Heaven Event Centre saw over 550 guests fill the venue for a night of free drinks,
food & dancing (As well as mechanical bull rides and cannon ball blaster to play with!)
Needless to say, the night was a huge success and one that will be repeated for years
to come. You can see photos and videos of the party on out facebook page below.

To finish off, we just wanted to say a huge, "Thank you," to everyone that came and
visited our booth. There was rarely a moment when we were not speaking to someone.
We thought at the start of the show that it was our best looking booth for a long time,
and thank you to all those who said likewise. Our final thank you is to our wonderful
customers who made sure that 2011 IAAPA was out most profitable and record breaking
year ever. We are really looking forward to 2012 already and have new games and
innovations in the pipeline, so stay tuned!
